Well, what you did say is that the post WWII generation would have gotten along just fine without the GI BIll and how do you propose to support that assertion? Are you going to suggest that Americans weren't creating innovative products and businesses before WWII? Do you know why the isms arose? (Marxism, Communism, Nazism)? They arose out of the brutal economic conditions that concentrated wealth in the very few and gave the working man hardly enough to survive--from whence was born all labor movements. It finally took the realization that Government would have to be the referee between the struggle of capital and labor if nation building were to peacefully ensue. It took a couple of World Wars to finally figure this out and I'm afraid we're about to have relearn this all over again. There is dark dark future out there if we do have to relearn it. And did those isms solve any of those problems?
