So you have a stake in intellectual entrepreneurism, which generally, speaking treats its employees benignly as there is competition for the best brains---so I understand how your views were/are shaped. Possibly you would think differently if you worked on an assembly line and had to do so many repetitive motions a minute to keep up. If that were the case, I think you might want a Union telling your employer how many x motions per minute have led to shoulder injuries and worker comp claims.
