The employers instead prefer to hire younger workers particularly those fresh out of colleges.

That's how they save money.

OTOH the stock market keeps going up thereby improving our 401Ks. And this give some level of confidence to the unemployed workers in that they at least have some income coming by way of their 401k funds. It is a bunch of crap when the right wingers say that people are not looking for jobs. The fact of the matter is that they are not being offered any. And now we have some emboldened employers who refuse to hire those who have been out of work for 6 months or more. The anticipation is that Obama's job plan may provide tax incentives to those employers who hire the long term unemployment.

You know, Chinu, I don't get why the Rs think their current attitude is a winning strategy. This talk about screwing around with Americans who have just experienced a disaster coupled with their criticism of 'lazy' Americans while discussing the ending of SS and Medicare can not be encouraging the love of even their constituents. I just don't get what they are trying to do.
