Generally speaking, I agree with that line of thought. But we have identified evolution as the means by which we got here. We have figured out quantum theory (even if we don't really understand it), the Heisenberg Uncertainty principle, entanglement and relativity. And we got to the moon. And in 35 years we will reach the human singularity which means 10,000 years from now we will have evolved into immortal gods if we survive. Future generations might be impressed such a rag tag bunch of chimps did that much in a couple of hundred years. <<More seriously, at this stage in human development, we just don't have the tools to understand much and much less to communicate what we are able to understand. Under the circumstances, we are doing great. We have only been civilized for several thousand years. In terms of the universe, we are at the very beginning. Our languages are much to primitive and too full of ambiguities. Just listen to Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann. There are people who actually think they understand what these folks are talking about. Imagine (if we don't destroy ourselves or elect people like Rick Perry) where we will be in 10,000 years. When they look back, future historians will marvel at what primitive people like us were able to achieve.
