I've traveled all over too. Compared to foreign countries, I find America to be a very homogenized place. Same chain food, hotels, malls, banks and stores in every city in America. The houses made of ticky-tacky in Salt Lake City look just like the houses made of ticky-tacky in every other city I've been to.

Growing up that's what I was told too but how similar do you think you really are when compared to the Cajuns of LA or the Amish of PA and OH or the Native Americans of the PNW or to the Latinos who live in the SW and speak Spanish exclusively or to the blacks who live in inner city Detroit or to the Puerto Ricans who live in Spanish Harlem or to the gays who live in SFO. What's true is that you are somewhat similar to most straight whites in this country but even then I bet there are some important differences.

So tell me again how homogenized this country really is............is it more myth than reality?
