I use the services of all three of the major companies that compile earnings reports. I do not know which specific brokerage made this change. This issue comes up repeatedly, despite the fact that the source is less relevant than you might think.

What's more, in the past I have challenged people who insisted on knowing the source to demonstrate that they understand the nuances of the analysts' community enough to understand the difference between them. No one has ever responded with an answer that showed they have this knowledge.

Happy Investing!

Alex: None of the analysts had predicted the company's outlook during the last few months with any degree of accuracy. It is not until the company itself had indicated their possible earning range. These analysts are now coming with their new "earning estimates". All these guys were near unanimous of the glorious quarters ahead in their estimates of the last few months. How credible are these new estimates? Like some one said on this thread - these jokers are telling us to buy at $50 and sell at $20.
