Will get back to you. my main point is going to be that 1000 isn't a significant number percentage wise--if your source is accurate.

OK---according to this source there are over 2.6 million scientists in the USA alone so if 1000 world wide scientists sign a petition on some scientific issue that is a very very small percentage of the scientific community.
