You are trying to put words in my mouth. I never ever have said Gibson alone is responsible--it is every business that is trying to avoid the certification--no matter where it is located--remember the certification comes from the Madagascar government---that COLLECTIVELY is helping to denude Madagascar (thanks for pointing out those additional sources of deforestation in your other post)

Gibson got proper certification for all its imported wood. The Feds are claiming that the exporter in Madgascar didn't follow Madagascar law.

Gibson maintains they do have the certification they need. They haven't even been charged with a crime, not even for the 2009 raid.

I don't think it should matter where the labor on fingerboards is performed. Yet a Justice Dept representative said it did.
