Yes, sure, Ayn Rand playbook.
And yours is out of Marx's playbook?

Let them earn what they're worth and if it isn't enough to feed, clothe and shelter their children, let it be their own fault.

You know, it goes both ways, if a company doesn't pay their workers enough to take care of their needs, the people will move away and find employers who will. And the employer who doesn't pay people enough to survive will either have to change their wage strategy or go out of business.

You and I are far apart in our views of how the world actually works and, additionally, how it should work. Ed
I doubt that we are as far apart as you think. Most people do not like seeing other people suffer. This goes for libertarians too. Why do you think that if the people are willing to vote to have the government force us to be charitable that we wouldn't just do it on our own?

it's so much easier to have the government take it out of your check. It takes care of those poor people so that you don't have to feel guilty about being better off than those poor suffering fools. Real charity comes for more personal giving. Writing that check with the real intent of giving to someone in need is far more meaningful than a blind deduction from your paycheck. It also takes a little effort. But it's worth it, you should try it.

The only difference is that you believe that charity should be forced. I think it should be voluntary. Why don't you take care of your side of the street and I'll take care of mine....
