So, you refuse to carry mandated auto insurance?

That's a state requirement...see? Doesn't matter that every single state mandates it, making it the equivalent of a fed mandate...it's a state prerogative...that's their lame argument.

I CHOOSE to carry auto insurance, just as I do health insurance.

However, millions of New Yorkers don't carry auto insurance because they choose not to drive a car. It is totally not the same situation, and the Court will eventually throw Obamacare out IMO.

That said, I do not believe automobile owners should be required by law to carry insurance of any kind if they choose not to. This is a product of lobbying just as much as anything happening on K Street that liberals are all balled up about. And it is, IMO, an attack on personal freedom. If an uninsured person causes me property damage I have a claim against them.
