Ok--Lonberg's solutions sound very reasonable to me. If the "Green Team" is just spinning the statistics out of context for the purpose of political gain then I agree with you that "scare' tactics should not be part of the equation. For us lay persons thought it is hard to separate the scientific wheat from the chafe so sometimes we get sucked into this. Yes, the bears may be adaptable. There are white "spirit bears" (so named by the indigenous natives) in the forests of British Columbia that may be remnants of adapted polar bears--though I don't know what scientists say about this (they look like ghost grizzlies).

Every notice how every single effect of AGW everywhere is supposed to be bad, This is one of the things that I have definitely noticed. Here in arid California we have had two great winters with significant rain/snowfall. Now...having a memory longer than a rhesus monkey, I know that this isn't too unusual, but some AGW proponents have "blamed" global warming for the back to back extreme winters in California. And all that I can say is that "if this is the result of global warming, bring it on!!". But alas, again, having a decent memory, I know that the next drought is right around the corner. And of course, the AGW crowd will blame global warming when California is once again in the drought part of the cycle.
