Niobium used for alloys for rockets' nose. Strategic during Cold War for ICBMs of both sides. Shoot them up, ballistic curve and reentry. ICBM need to be protected during re-entry.

Chinese are hurt that they pay so much for ores. They used Rare Earths as a revenge against what they pay for Australians and Brazilian ores.
