Are you trying to point out that the faith based thinkers were wrong about the solar system and that they're wrong now about climate change now, or did you simply overlook that inconvenient fact?

Ptolemy wasn't a theologian. The Ptolemaic model of the solar system wasn't a faith-based belief - it had long been the orthodox scientific model (over 1500 years) and was backed by 99% of scientists, plus the Church hierarchy. The mainstream Ptolomaic astronomers of the day were very creative matching all observed data to the model - though they had to use more and more "epicycles" as details came out which didn't fit their models.

Just like Phil Jones et al are doing today as new cloud formation observations fail to fit their models.

The people who held the Ptolemaic view weren't faith based ... that WAS the scientific consensus.
