hi claps-

How did the pow wow go with the Cochiti council?

it was as usual... a delayed NO.

Did they actually close the lake? Why? Did it break?

the lake's been closed since june 26th. first for firefighting
helicopters to use it as a tank to fill their buckets and now
because it's rained and washed black ash and a lotta black
wood and junk into it. it looks like cowboy coffee.

I thought the issue was just with the house boat...

2 issues... 2 government entities... the Army corps of engineers
and the cochiti tribe. the lake may reopen in a couple of weeks.

we got lucky and found someone who'll give us $4k for the
houseboat and transport it himself. sad to lose it but glad
it's not going to the scrap heap yet.

bummer year for sailing. i'm glad i went with captn bla bla
to baja.
