Sounds like he might be expecting the banking system to blow up. Or something like that. Stewart Thomson has said he anticipates the possibility of bank holidays and is advocating that people hold some cash outside the banking system just in case. And lots and lots of bullion, of course...

A theme he has been touching on in just the last week is the idea that, at long last, the bullion banks are trying to cover their massive short positions in gold.

Earlier last week he included (in his introductory remarks) an extensive quote from Ted Butler that was well reasoned, measured and clear that spoke exactly to that point.

The Hoover Dam/water hose reference reflects their collective belief that the process of covering can't be done in an orderly matter, given the disparity between limited available bullion and the (still) massive short positions.

My best guess of his meaning....
