The question to me is were the shares sold by the Teck Corp. ... or by individuals within Teck?

If it was by individuals ... then I think you make an excellent point ... we're getting "Vinicked" (Fidelity Mgr. hyping while selling.)

But ... if it was a Corp. sale ...

There's lots of reasons why a Corp might sell stock ... I'm sure they have a portfolio Mgr. who watches for trading opportunities as well as cash flow needs of the Corp. without a whole lot of regard for the image it presents.

Jim, I'm inclined to agree with what you are saying, to an extent... Put yourself into the shoes of a Teck executive...

I'm spending millions of the bosses money and shareholders money, drilling a spec play...

The boss has made a deal with DML to spend so much money on drilling all these holes... Yeah but, I gotta worry about the financials...All this money goin' out and nothing coming in... My ass is in a sling...

The guy's in the field hit on a good one... Doesn't matter if the guy's find another on or not... I have to recoup some of our expenditures... How do I do it???

OK... I have quite a large piece of the DML (2.8 mill shares) I just spent a fortune exercising those options, I got all these drillin' costs to cover...DML is trading lak crazy...almost 1 mill per day...DML price is goin' hog wild...We got the IR guy's out there shown the core to all kinds of people...Lots of interest in the play...

So far we been spending and spending and haven't got nothin' back...

Time to take advantage of the situation...I'm gonna advise the boss that here is a way to get some of our expenditures back and at the same time we don't kill the market by easing out about 15% (400K) of our holdings over a 4 day period...At least this way we get back a % of our investment, whether it be the cost of exercising the options or the cost of this drilling operation...

Our finacials remain in order...Investment in DML is still sound... Exploration is continuing... More cash in the kitty to warrant even further drilling if necessary...(Gotta spend money to make money)...If we hit and have to continue winter operations... we can do it... etc...etc...etc...

That's the way I see it... Makes business sense to me...

Watch and see what happens if any of these Teck DML/jv plays hit on another one...

I can't explain the selling of the Burton stock in the Major as I haven't seen that insider report... The only one I've seen is the one I posted about Coulter selling...In retrospect it was brought to my attention that he was buying and exercising options...Check the Code Guide that I posted on the MGJ thread... may explain or clarify what appears to be sales, but are in reality options granted etc...etc..

Just my opinion FWIW...

G'night

...ed

ps: sorry about the type-o's if there are any...
