Good call/observation and in your other post also. I think I have some backtracking to do and maybe some apologizing to LongnShort to make.

After thinking it over (keeping in my mind I am not substituting these thoughts for the rules of the moderator) I mostly think we just got to let people go out at it and individuals can challenge one another as they see fit as to how they know different things

There may be one exception, however, and that is if someone is professing some expertise about experts. I think if you state that this expert's opinion is not as good that expert's opinion (or something like that) then you have to be prepared to tell us how you are in position to know that.

Other than that I think its pretty much carte blanche as to how people want to represent and form their thoughts.

I challenged LongnShort about how much he knew about the formation of Unions because he was always giving opinions about them, but he's not holding himself out as any expert on Unions so I shouldn't have tried to impose some limitation on his right to talk about them by implying that certain historical expertise was needed.

Is that a sufficient answer for you?
