"This is not a C-Cube stock thread, this is a C-Cube and
associated industry developments thread."

Exactly.

May I suggest:
Subject 18098
or
techstocks.com

Or start your own thread. If there's enough interest then others will follow. But taking a look at those other thread I'm not so sure...

Being a tech novice, I have to agree that this thread is more technology than equities, but I also have to admit that I have learned a lot from those that understand the tech, and every so often a good stock discussion comes across. With this company it is similar to craps. You lays your monies down and takes your chances. Its big stakes. If you cut to the bottom line, we are talking millions of home TV's, not to mention computers, cable, orbiting sats, and who knows what. If C cube can get to be dominant, we are talking stock prices in terms of magnitudes of 10. If not, well, the Titanic went to the same grave. So with reward comes risk. If I knew what tomorrow held, I'd be partying with Gates and Dell right now. No, I forgot. They don't party. They just work. Gotta admire that.

"Don't get me wrong, I like CUBE and I'm long calls"

I guess you don't need to know the industry in order to buy calls. All you really need to do is look at earnings and margins. And, of course, you also have to hope that someone buys the company (and those thingies that it makes and sells).

Seriously though, it is quite common for well managed companies with good long term prospects to make a few mistakes along the way to greatness. But in order to recognize these situations, you might have to get to know the business.

Nikita, can't disagree with you about the stock's performance. CUBE's story is a future one; when digital video really, I mean REALLY begins to take off, so will CUBE. We are in the infancy of the digital video era. A while back everyone thought DVD would take off by last Christmas. Then they thought it would go by this CHristmas, but delays by studios and that damn Divx have slowed the market. However, as BillyG said, the fuse has been lit, we are all waiting for liftoff. What YOU want to know, however, is how long is that damn fuse? Can't answer that. That's why I'd be hesitant to buy CUBE options unless they were LEAPS, and we had some time to get more design wins that would add to the bottom line and make the market fall in love with CUBE again. Good luck
