Used to live in Torrance and Inglewood and Hawthorne....

Actually have an AA from El Camino.

This is a lower middle class blue collar area that supports LAX.

I don't know how long ago you lived in Torrance but its hardly lower middle class now with incomes of $76K and $94K for singles and families respectively:

And I exaggerated.......Torrance has its own beaches and parts of it are right on the water. In fact, when I lived in LA, Torrance was considered a Manhattan Beach wannabee which is a fairly affluent suburb of LA.

Here's something you and I weren't supposed to find out:

At a private function at a Colorado resort, oil billionaire Charles Koch stood in front of hundreds of conservative millionaires and said the 2012 election will be, in the words of Saddam Hussein -- yes, he decided to quote Saddam Hussein -- "the mother of all wars."

He then read through a list of 32 contributors who gave more than a million dollars each to bankroll the network of corporate special-interest groups that aim to tear down President Obama.

If that offends you, it absolutely should. But it should also motivate you, because you are the only thing that can stop them.

'This is a lower middle class blue collar area that supports LAX.

It may be 5 miles from the ocean, but a half million bucks for a 1300 sq ft stucco, 60's flat is insane'

Check how much closer that house is to Compton than five miles. Look how close it is to the 405 and how much that house sold for a decade ago. I'm thinking it should eventually drop to the $300k range remodeled. The middle class is getting squeezed from what Ted always tells me.. Get on the beach side of Hawthorne or close to Palos Verdes for better value at $500k..jeez some 'depression' we are in but think how much they'll save by not needing heat or A/C..
