CARSON CITY, Nev. -- Associated Press Authorities are investigating whether mental illness was a factor in a shooting rampage at a Nevada restaurant that left two uniformed National Guard members dead and three wounded. That happened right across the street from where I work. Bullets were flying. A couple of my co-workers who were outside at the time, ducked under a car until the shooting stopped. Just goes to show that you can never take for granted that "it can't happen here". Carson is a nice town. I feel really sorry for the Guard members who were killed and wounded while just having breakfast at the IHOP...
