She was facing over a half million $ in legal bills from the baseless suits against her in Alaska. They would have bankrupted her FAMILY. There weren't many options, but to get out and start cashing in on her fame.

It is a negative for me too. Obviously she was under attack. But a winner takes the energy of an attack and projects it back on the attacker. It's reveals a character flaw IMO.

I see the Alaskan laws as being the fault here. When a governor has to cover the costs of every lawsuit that is brought against her as a governor and you have an unethical opposing party who exploits the law by filing multiple frivolous lawsuits, it becomes untenable to stay in office.

I don't see her resignation as an attempt to get rich, but as an attempt to avoid bankruptcy.
