LOL! Oh... man... I wish you were right - but people ARE oblivious. I was behind someone at Best Buy who bought a $4.95 extended warranty on a $24.99 item. Bush was re-elected. The Tea Party is comprised of poor folks who don't want to tax corporations. Millions of folks signed onto mortgages with teaser rates oblivious to the idea that the rates would rise. Folks have a low opinion of congress but keep electing their congressman. McDonald's sells really unhealthy food but people buy more and more every year. I could go on forever but suffice to say we wouldn't be in this mess if people were not oblivious. In the end, there is a price for screwing people. People are not oblivious to what's happening.
