Because I moved to another state to stay with my wife I am not entitled to unemployment compensation, nor am I considered unemployed by the federal government. Your "job gains" are at the lowest end of the employment scale. Want to help a 50s executive to find employment? Hope you bargained and had a great severance package when you left your previous employment. My son and step daughter recently visited us. He stated that many companies looked at getting rid of the most costly employees with younger employees, replacing them with newer technologies, and therefore lower their labor cost. This downturn gave the employer the opportunity and not be subject to the EEOC and other Federal laws. He also stated that their company and some others companies took the attitude that they would not employ unemployed individuals figuring they were let go as the least efficient employees. They then focused on raiding other corporations for their employees since they, if retained by the corporations, were the most efficient. This poses one hell of a problem for the previously successful unemployed who are included with the least efficient unemployed. Being unemployed as long as you have been, I am sure, is very disheartening. I have run into many who have the same difficulty and need assistance. As time goes buy skill sets erode with the increase of technology, and the age factor enters in along with other factors. But, we still have to assist the unemployed with their basic needs. What programs and services do you see that we need to provide you with the opportunity of successful employment and current needs?
