John, UMC(UICC) fire was on Oct 6 (from memory).

Based on current Masked programmed ROM prices it seems to me that flash prices still have a little way to fall. I'm hearing Masked ROM quotes for mid 98 that are around $0.50 per Mbit. Thats down from $0.80 at the moment.
Flash process complexity will add about 35% extra to the processing cost and reduce yield by about 7% plus increased test cost of about 5%. Which is basically the difference between Flash and Masked today. So I expect mid 98 Flash prices will drop by around 30% from todays prices.
