whitepine, thanks for posting the wsj article. for those who want to read the article on the wsj website, the link from a google search is below. if that link does not work for you, you can google it using "wsj the other climate theory" . (i have removed the grammatically correct period from inside the " at the end of the sentence in order for some not to copy and paste the . in the web address.)

this is a very nice, 50,000 foot, layman's explanation of kirkby's breakthrough work from his recent nature paper on aerosols in earth's atmosphere and cosmic rays impacting earth's atmosphere for possible cloud formation. next time rick perry wants to talk in a debate about climate science not yet being settled, he needs to bring along a copy of this wsj article to make sure he has some references. you can't fight a theory without another theory in this political science world of climate change and climate models (or lack of climate models).
