ALL skeptics are lightning rods ..... because of their skepticism. How do you get uninterested parties to fund research? And how do you determine they're uninterested? We can't assume liberal foundations are disinterested. Industrial companies like GE aren't disinterested. The federal government isn't disinterested because it's run and staffed by persons with positions they want to promote. Take former Senator and VP Al Gore - he hasn't been disinterested in decades. It's probably impossible to fund research only with money from disinterested parties. If they were truly disinterested, why would they fund research at all?
