Just went strolling through the Mangga Dua electronics mall area in Jakarta.

Didn't have any problems, but sure caught a lot of interesting stares from the locals.. Made me a bit nervous (and I consider myself pretty good at situational awareness) so took the first Blue Bird taxi (the only kind to use in Jakarta) that came my way.

I had just hit the Citibank ATM for a sizeable withdrawal and it was making me a bit edgy..

But with regard to traveling with a large quantity of money in ANY city, it's better to have security. You never know when someone is tipped off (maybe inside job by seller) that a customer is toting around a large quantity of cash/PM
