Given the range of TAN ($11.6 - $4.6 since late 2008), I'm content with how I've done so far. As I've posted, over the last year, I've made some nice profits on ST trades (long and short). If I included those gains in my cost basis, my average price would probably be slightly above where we are today.

Macro and sector sentiment are so low today, expectations are near-nil for these companies. That is exactly the time to buy stocks (solars, or any other). Buying solars today, feels like when I was buying BP last year. BP made repeated attempts to cap the well, and failed repeatedly. The business press was seriously discussing bankruptcy. After every failed attempt to cap the well, the stock dropped again, and I bought again. When I got scared to buy again, I reviewed BP's hard assets, which would have value under any possible future.
