Just another indication that Obama knows little about America. He made major wrong statements about Martin Luther King and the freedom marches, he made major wrong statements about Germany and WWII----he signed the guest book for Queen Elizabeth of England with the wrong year (what was he on when he signed that book?).

He has criticized Americans for being Christian and carrying Bibles. He has criticized the mountain people of Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio and West Virginia for toting guns and calling them ignorant.

He has done nothing but instill fear in Seniors, most especially women who often live longer than their husbands and fill our nursing homes.

Gee, what happened to that August 2011 Obama and Democrat terror threats of no social security checks for retired folks. SHAME ON OBAMA FOR SCARING SOCIAL SECURITY RECIPIENTS!!!!! That might as well have been a terrorist attack----------striking fear into the heart of people,

Thanks for your diligence in getting the truth out about the titular President Obama-Soetoro's historical ignorance.----mj

And now Obama gets his facts wrong, and PBS covers for OBAMA'S IGNORANCE

Actually, they did more than yawn; government-funded PBS has altered the transcript of the President's speech, removing the offending comment.

The New'>http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/09/us/politics/09text-obama-jobs-speech.html?pagewanted=6&_r=1]< a=""> York Times transcript<> has the following quote:

"We all remember Abraham Lincoln as the leader who saved our Union. Founder of the Republican Party. But in the middle of a civil war, he was also a leader who looked to the future -- a Republican President who mobilized government to build the Transcontinental Railroad -- (applause) -- launch the National Academy of Sciences, set up the first land grant colleges. (Applause.) And leaders of both parties have followed the example he set."

But how does it appear in the PBS'>http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/business/july-dec11/obamaspeech_09-08.html]PBS transcript?

"We all remember Abraham Lincoln as the leader who saved our Union. But in the middle of a Civil War, he was also a leader who looked to the future - a Republican president who mobilized government to build the transcontinental railroad; launch the National Academy of Sciences; and set up the first land grant colleges. And leaders of both parties have followed the example he set."

So PBS has purposely altered a transcript containing a major gaffe by the President

Sure; we have a fair and balanced media! The best government money can buy!
