No state with nukes will go to war on another state with nukes. So, 20th century state vs. state warfare is DEAD and OVER. The rest of the world seems to get it, but our military-industrial government complex didn't get, read, or like the memo. Obama has the traditional (D) "weak on defense" charge to defend himself against. If he was going to propose drastic military cuts, the time to do it was right after he got OBL. Also, I suspect defense is such a huge, crucial part of our economy, especially NOW, that he just can't whack it too hard. It's got to be carefully unwound, but he should START doing it. A terrorist is lucky if they can afford a commercial ticket!
