Phil,

Had the same experience with e-Schwab when I started, so it isn't a function of the size of the brokerage firm. I opened an account at Datek, which a number of people on the thread use, and have had no trouble getting shares of the stocks that have been discussed on this thread. Perhaps they have arrangements with other brokers while Schwab relies only on its internal inventory, I don't know.
