My clients look me in the eye and ask me, "why would I have done that?" If it hadn't been promoted to them by the sophisticated people who stood to make money at the inception, they probably wouldn't have. Really gets old how the pigs blame the victims for this scam. The gates were thrown open by the folks who found out that they just needed numbers to become amazingly wealthy by promoting a false promise to a bunch of folks who were repeatedly assured not to worry cause real estate "always" went up. Real estate agents, appraisers, escrow companies, title insurers, mortgage lenders, banks, credit rating agencies, derivatve packagers, all of them. All they needed was bodies, who would eventually have to answer for this shit. All the promoters made their cash at the git go..... And the magic carpet for this fiasco: en.wikipedia.org
