Teck selling such a small amount of shares is nothing. If they had sold the majority of their position I could understand the need for worry. All they did was sell a small portion while the market was strong. Maybe they predicted a bad market on the way. Maybe they are buying there shares back at a highly discounted price? Maybe they sell a small portion of their holding to make it look bad to a lot of people so they sell their shares while Teck themselves buy them all up. So when they release news...... WHO KNOWS?????

TO ALL: If you look at the dates the Teck trades took place you will find the following:

10/29/97 Total Volume: 1,952,430...Teck sells 144,500
10/30/97 Total Volume: 1,547,400...Teck sells 120,000
10/31/97 Total Volume: 672,588...Teck Sells 35,000
11/05/97 Total Volume: 331,618...Teck Sells 44,000
11/06/97 Total Volume: 543,950...Teck Sells 50,000

Compared to the daily volumes as found on Stockwatch, I'd hardly say that Teck
was DUMPING the stock... I'd say that they were selling stock in the
normal course of trading...Taking some profits when they where available...

Nothing wrong with that in my books...

They sold less than 370k out of 4.8 mill...Big Deal...

Karl - yes I asked the Donner guys why Teck were dunping 370,000 shares while the Royal York meeting was going on. I don't expect a reply because there likely isn't a very good answer.
