Excellent points, Honey Bee. It's a token holiday for a token group of undesirables. Normal people see it for it is; a tool to pacify the angry descendants of slaves and hopefully keep them shopping and spending at least some of the time when they're not too busy killing, raping, and destroying. -ng-
