Seems lie a lot of confusion about the Medicare thing.

Was not aware that you would be penalized for not accepting Medicare at 65.

I do know that Medicare advantage programs are simply subsidized HMO's, usually with a prescription benefit to entice people to subject themselves to the tender mercies of a private, for profit insurance company.

Of course there are fundamental conflicts involved with seeking to have a profit making entity give a shit about your health, but Americans have been so brainwashed with this system, they don't even question the obvious.

I hear folks talk about competition and choice and wonder what they have been smoking.

I mean really, you have companies competing to be the entity that doles out whats left of your premiums after they take their giant cut?

And Americans like this because they compete?

Health insurance companies are a scam. They provide nothing in terms of actual health care and simply insinuate in the system and collect a fee. Money for nothing. The pure essence of a rent seeking entity.

And we as a people have proven to be too stupid to dump this crap for a universal single payer system.

As always, Americans deserve whet they get.

I think that's only for (the Bush unfunded) Part D, which stands for droogs, which get you high.
I get Part D, but they don't cover the only droogs I currently use..
