Back in 2008 around the beginning of the financial meltdown my GE refrigerator broke down. I called a GE repair man. We got to talking and he said Immelt was running the company into the ground and costing him money because he had GE stock. I think it was trading around $21 back then down significantly since Jack Welch's retirement. When he finished I gave him a credit card. I told him I knew I was good for the money but I couldn't vouch for the bank. It was Wachovia back then.
