Speaking of MTV, I just spent a half hour looking through YouTube for video of the first ever (1982) New Year's Eve show they had, which I was at. Karla DeVito (best known for the girl in Meatloaf's Paradise by the Dashboard Lights) posted all 11 of her songs on her channel but I don't recall being in camera range at that point since I was off to the side with the MTV folks where they did the talking between sets. Those were the days when you just called the station and asked to speak to so and so and they put you through. Martha had invited me and so I just took the train in from CT and showed up without a written invitation, flashed my radio station press pass I had made for myself, and was in. I don't recall that MTV ever broadcast a repeat of that show and likely never will. But somewhere someone must have recorded it.
