It may seem simple yet at the time it was not so easy to understand.I bought in Brazil as I knew Brazilian real estate values in 1972-74 were higher in Brazil than the US and also as I would not mind living in Brazil :it offered me a retirement plan, disability plan, catastrophic insurance plan(Trade one 400K house in US for ten 40K homes in Brazil of same quality--live in one rent nine)What is amazing is how so few saw free money dangled in front of their faces. We sure are herd animals(sheep)
The sad thing is that I can see simple(though painful) solutions to the US economy/tax system and it appears again no one sees what I see.The President is barking up the wrong tree. There will be few rich left when all is said and done. The nonproductive rich will hopefully not be around (bankers and finance and home builders) and the productive wealthy already pay too much and just will not produce. We should capture the billionaires paying 18% but after that it is a VAT tax on all including the 60% who pay no Federal Tax.Almost all of America including the bottom 60% lived way above their means.Doing things the right way will only decrease and not eliminate the pain.Medicare and Social Security must remain under the Federal Government and the American people must vote on what the level of VAT they pay and the level of services they receive
