re: delay of NT 5.0

I don't this will affect us negatively at all. As a matter of fact, it may help. Why? You need to understand what the current stall is all about. It boils down to two things:

1) NT 3.51 has the old UI, (pre Win/95), and users instantly know they're getting something 'old', so it just makes it that much more difficult for the IS guys to roll our stuff out. Getting to NT 4.0 solves this problem. The delta (to the user) between 4.0 and 5.0 is negligible. In other words, the end users won't be fighting us as they are now.

2) the biggest issue for widespread adoption is the wait for 'real' Microsoft product. This will happen beginning of next year. It will be based on NT 4.0, not 5.0, so the 5.0 delay is sort of a non-issue.

So why could the 5.0 delay actually help? Easy. Since Hydra will be 4.0 based, the last thing we need is to get into another set of arguments over whether or not the customer should wait (again) until 5.0 comes. If all the other NT systems installed are 'stuck' at 4.0, Hydra just becomes that much more compatible.
