I'm not trying be rude...but what planet are you gentleman from. Cisco did not invent networking....Xerox invented ethernet a long time ago, long before there was ever a company named Cisco. Before that, IBM invented the first PC network, again long before Cisco. The DOD invented TCP/IP way back in the 60's, when the founders of Cisco were getting out of diapers.

What got Cisco started was one product...the Router. the Router was an EVOLUTION of the BRIDGE. Prior to becoming 3Com, there was a small company called BRIDGE Communications.

Please get your history of networking straight before you start saying how great Cisco is....they have not developed anything interesting in house in years. Everything that has been worthwhile has been acquired. Where are they with Gigabit Ethernet???? Still not even off of the ground yet I'm afraid.
