The appeal of treasuries -- as you go on to point out - is that they can be instantaneously unloaded in a fraction of a second. The treasury auctions tell us that there is a massive pool of liquidity with no better place to go. That tells us nothing about deflation -- and if anything strongly hints at the potential for asset and commodity bubbles moving forward.
