To All: Check out thread #1451 in Last Mile Technologies of the Communication supergroup. The issue of settop boxes has been an irritation to me. I want the cable to go into my pc and then spurred to the tube, phone, etc. Intl, 3Coms, Bay, are working on what I refer to as a wic---web interface card. I want to program my VCR from my pc. Anybody out there writing software to do this? JAVA would be a lovely environment in which to do this.Listening MSFT? Look Bill, you don't need to tangle with justice, forget it! Build a new explorer for cable, give it to ATHM, and ATHM customers can tell ATHM whose bowser wowser they want. You put windows inside of explorer! And cease further development on windows. A future version of Windows is DOA anyway; it's dead technology and you guys want to hang onto to that corpse? The envy of the incompetitative. Indeed!

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to get some measure of the potential and your post was very helpfull. I think AOL has 10 million subs at a valuation of $900 each. I would assume ATHM could justify $2000 based on greater income potential. You then calculate how many subs are needed to jusify todays market cap and then guess how long it will take to get there. In other words how far out is todays price. Just another way of talking myself into jumping in. Someone told me today ATHM has 65000 subs.
Does the monthly fee vary by location?
