Very interesting. Although I am short on the Thai Fund, I own Temp. Emerging Markets Fund in Canada (an open end) which is run by Mark Mobius. It has the best long term record of any emerging markets fund available in Canada. I don't doubt that the fund I own has also increased its Thai weighting; before that it was heavily into Hong Kong. Its recent performance certainly reflects that (down to about $9.01 from over 11 in September).

Probably not a bad idea to begin picking up a small weighting in Thailand but it's not worth rushing into. Better to dollar cost average your way in over the next couple years than to "catch a falling knife". Interesting that another portfolio manager quoted in the article, Alfred Ho of Invesco Asia Ltd., said "We still see a lot of currecy risk there, and there's the possibility of a full-scale banking crisis." Many people thought Korea was a banged up market last year and ready for a comeback but it is now getting banged further down.
