Obama's jobs program has been ginned up entirely for political purposes, to make the GOP look coldhearted and cruel.

But in fact, it is Obamanomics that is cruel. It has spent by some estimates $3 trillion on spurious job creation, "stimulus" and bailout schemes, and has nothing to show for it.

From the employment peak in 2007, we've lost 8.8 million jobs. We've only clawed back about 1.9 million of those. We're so far behind on job creation it's stunning.

Yet, here's what Obama offers: more of the same. Well, guess what? When you do the same thing over and over again, you get the same results.

Don't believe us. That's what the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office says in its latest economic outlook. The CBO told the deficit-cutting "supercommittee" this week not to expect good times to roll anytime soon. It forecast that unemployment, now at 9.1%, will stay "close to 9%" through the end of 2012, despite trillions spent on "stimulus."

GDP growth, which CBO only a month ago estimated at 2.3% for this year, has been slashed to just 1.5% for this year.

Next year will be little better, with GDP now expected to grow at 2.5%, not the 2.7% estimated in August.

President Obama told NBC's "Today" on Feb. 2, 2009, "I will be held accountable" for the economy.

Please remember this the next time someone from the White House claims that things "would have been much worse" without Obama's economic nostrums.

This is plain nonsense. By his own standard, he should be held accountable. Clearly, things are worse because of what he did, and unless we change course soon, our economic skies will only darken

And the stupid american people elected a muslim indonesian citizen brilliant barry soetoro to lead them out of it. So far all this spoiled rotten narcissistic child has been able to do is say the american political system is dysfunctional. Dysfunctional after hundreds of years of working just fine. To a distorted narcissistic mind that can not get its way a perfect system is now a dysfunctional system and needs change. Beware the constant use of the phrase "Dysfunctional Political System".

White House ignored red flags in loan to failed solar company
By Martin Wolk
The Obama administration committed more than $500 million in taxpayer money to a maker of solar power panels despite repeated red flags about the company’s viability, NBC News’ Lisa Myers reported Wednesday.

The FBI raided the Silicon Valley headquarters of the company, Solyndra, last week, investigating whether the government was misled when it loaned the company $535 million in taxpayer funds. Solyndra officials say they are cooperating with the investigation.

Solyndra received the loan guarantees in 2009 as part of President Barack Obama’s promise to create millions of so-called "green" jobs. But last month, Solyndra declared bankruptcy, laying off all 1,100 workers.

“The evidence seems to be pretty clear to even the non-lawyer types that this smelled from the very get-go, that this was a really bad deal,” said Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

A committee panel, which has been looking into the company for months, will hold a hearing Wednesday on what went wrong with Solyndra. Two company executives are expected to appear before the panel next week, The Associated Press reported.

House Republican investigators have unearthed emails -- reviewed by NBC -- which reveal repeated warnings by government staffers about the loan. Days before final approval there was a warning that one model showed the project would run out of cash in September 2011, which it did.

Another memo from the White House Office of Management and Budget, also cited by The Washington Post, questioned the model the government was using, but said "[g]iven the time pressure we are under to sign-off on Solyndra, we don't have time to change the model."

Why the rush? The White House appeared to be pushing to meet political deadlines so Vice President Joe Biden could announce final approval when he spoke at the groundbreaking for the new plant.

It's been 3 years since the Lehman collapse - 3 years since Bush led us into the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.

is it possible that you could number the left's talking points so that we could save on keystrokes?

for example, this one could be number 11

11 = It's been 3 years since the Lehman collapse - 3 years since Bush led us into the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.

so instead of typing out that Bush led us into the worst financial crisis since the great depression, you could just type "11"

And if you want to call someone a rino, let's make that 12.

so you would type "Turner 12"

And if another high temp was broken it would be 13

so this "Wichita Falls makes Texas history with 100th triple-digit day; Dallas area joins record books"
becomes
"Wichita 13"

Just think of all the bits we would save! remember, each bit traveling across the internet and being displayed on your computer monitor requires energy. Energy that comes from burning fossil fuels. You can help prevent global warming if you implement this shorthand form of communication.

Thank you for your support

President Obama's Tax On Soup Kitchens

Yesterday, it was announced that an astounding 1 in 6 Americans are living in poverty. President Obama's response? To demand a tax on donations to soup kitchens and other charities that help people desperately in need. The President's proposal will impact approximately 40% of all the tax deductible contributions, and essentially penalize soup kitchens, hospitals, and churches that provide essential services to those who need them most. It’s no wonder this tax hike has been rejected on both sides of the aisle.

Background:

US Poverty Rate Swells To Nearly 1 In 6. The ranks of America's poor swelled to almost 1 in 6 people last year, reaching a new high as long-term unemployment left millions of Americans struggling and out of work. The number of uninsured edged up to 49.9 million, the biggest in more than two decades. The Census Bureau's annual report released Tuesday offers a snapshot of the economic well-being of U.S. households for 2010, when joblessness hovered above 9 percent for a second year. It comes at a politically sensitive time for President Barack Obama, who has acknowledged in the midst of a re-election fight that the unemployment rate could persist at high levels through next year. The overall poverty rate climbed to 15.1 percent, or 46.2 million, up from 14.3 percent in 2009. (The Associated Press, 9/13/11)

Ways & Means Ranking Member Sander Levin Has Opposed The President’s Effort To Raise Taxes. Rep. Sander Levin (D-Mich.), who is the ranking member on the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee, delivered a speech in June in defense of many of the same tax deductions Obama is now targeting. "In the case of the charitable deduction, one has to keep in mind that the recipients of the contributions include universities, hospitals, churches and soup kitchens that provide critical services to working families," Levin said. (Roll Call, 9/14/11)

Majority Leader Cantor: It Doesn’t Make Sense To Impose Taxes On Charitable Contributions When The Charities Are The Ones Out There Helping People. We have also found out through looking at his tax proposals, or at least the reports, that his tax proposals are going to impose taxes on charitable contributions and in fact impact at least 40 percent of tax deductible charitable contributions. I don’t think there are many Americans right now who think that’s a good idea. The question is why would we want to put an impediment in the way of the charities accessing funding when the charities are the ones out there helping the people in need right now? It doesn’t make sense. (Remarks At The American Action Forum, 9/13/11)
