Goldiger:

Hi Jim, Given that Teck has hundreds of millions of dollars in its treasury, I cannot understand why they would make such a colossal public relations blunder for the sake of one million dollars.

My guess on this is that "hundreds of millions" are made one million at a time. Punch and Judy hitters have the longest careers. Also I don't agree that Teck selling 370,000 was a "colossal public relations blunder," as the debate of its importance on this thread indicates that opinions on the subject vary. A "colossal" blunder would probably meet with unanimous scorn here.

One important thing that no one comments on is that Burton's comments (or whoever was doing the talking) at the Royal York were absolutely pure hype because he cannot confirm in scientific terms that there is a real find. There was probably a certain gravity in the room that lent some undeserved credibility to the statements being made as all the attendee's leaned in to hear some real inside info. (in such a lush and traditional environment and all). I guess that's why they don't hold such functions at the Seaway Motel.

Goldiger - wonder if the Northern Miner would print the sequence of events - Teck/Donner calls rush meeting at the Royal York to explain significant findings in Harp Lake (best hole ever drilled I believe were the words), and then go on to Europe for further promotion. So the stock run up gets sustained, but just incidentally we're selling about 370,000 shares into this big run up.

Most of these Harp Lake companies monitor the comments on these threads, perhaps there is someone who could offer an explanation of why Teck would be selling the 370,000 shares at the same time as they are telling the crowd in the Royal York of what a good find this is. What would really be interesting is to have the same fellow from Teck post to this thread his explanation.

Someone suggested, it could be a goofup, perhaps.
