I think it's more precise to say that 159 million people are needlessly getting bombarded with LTE radio waves so 1 million people can access LTE. It is a little known fact that unless you have an LTE device, you cannot access LTE. That, my friend, is a FACT. 90% Verizon phones selling TODAY are 3G. Most of those are on 2 year contracts. So judge them however you want, it's the people who value LTE enough to get it that are outside the norm.
