Here is the link of the Charter school. On the surface, their charter looks like any ordinary charter that the ACLU cannot take to court. But see the link "About FAME" and then "Administrative staff". See the photograph of the young girl with the hijab. And see how they are catering to folks who speak Arabic. Their classes are gender segregated and the Islamic Society of East Bay strongly support that concept. So on paper they look good. BUt what they practice is very different and hence they have not been successful in attracting a wide cross section of the local population. http://www.famecharter.org/index.html
