The girl I was dating from Belgium was fanatic about U2 from day one to the point she collected every disc they ever made, domestic and import. Prior to meeting me she was obsessed with Jim Morrison and Mick Jagger, which everyone thought was quite fateful considering my initials. I still have total recall of the day we put U2's first album on the turntable in the radio station recording studio and sat on the recording side of the soundproof glass with the specially padded walls, in the dark, and listened to it. Obviously a defining moment in her life. To make the irony complete, after watching U2 in Torhout, we saw the Stones in Luxembourg shortly afterwards.
