I have a raven friend. It sits on the rail to my class when I grade in the afternoons. Sometimes I save the crusts from my sandwiches for it. It's very chatty.

When the raven is hungry he comes and sits on the deck railing where he can peer in at me. Their eyes are on the side of their face, so he cocks his head to see me. There are two of them and they love nuts and Daves killer organic bread-lol. It is great bread. I get it at costco in a yellow wrapper.

Sometimes I give them cat chow.

I have read a lot on crows and ravens. They think they are as smart as dolphins. They can recognize a face in a crowd and teach their young.

Right now in science magazine there is a great article on the unconscious mind. One test they give is to close your eyes and imagine driving in the left hand lane. Now try and change to the right lane. YOu will find you can't do it without running off the road.

Their thesis is that most of what we do we do on a subconscious level.
