The idea of Tradable Citizenship in Greece would have quite different value and effect from India and quite different from Switzerland, Hong Kong, USA, Singapore, Togo, Timor, Tibet, Taiwan etc. Kyros might even be able to suggest TC to somebody in Greece who will make it happen and once again in humanity's holocene time, establish a new political way of life, leading the way for others to follow and perhaps improve on it. Right now, Greece is leading the way again, but not in a direction people find attractive, but which they fear very much that they will follow..... "Arrrgggghhhh..... lookout , Greece is going to drag us down too and our debts are as bad oh nooooooooooo......" But, weirdly, Obama keeps on pumping up the debts, government employees and "shovel ready" spending on his buddies as though that's going to help. "Okay, we raised debts and government spending per person way past Greece but the economy didn't come right for some reason. Let's go for another $trillion and make private health care illegal. And we'll make things so difficult and scary for foreigners that they avoid coming here to spend money,, even though the US$ is in the toilet." When I say that India having a lot of people didn't make it rich, you are familiar with the crowds sleeping on the footpaths and on the side of the street in muddy huts in Bombay and know very well how unwealthy so many people are. You know that money doesn't buy happiness [though it does help buy a car to drive to it instead of walking, getting there ahead of the next bloke.] You know about the dab of paint on the forehead. Greece really could be a good candidate to make the change. They are going to have to do something. Nothing and business as usual is not an option. Government employees are going to get a pay cut of at least 50% and will have to actually work until age 35 or maybe even 40 before retiring on a fraction of the pension they now get. It might be better that they get a real job making souvlaki for new citizens. Next summer would be good and I'll be available for a few months to be President. Not only will we [Greece] introduce TC, we will host a UN conference for a reconstitution to make it into a 21st century international federation rather than a World War II Victor's Club with benefits. India having the same vote as Fiji for example is ridiculous. Japan did cause some strife in Asia 100 years ago, but let's let bygones be bygones - they could rate a big higher than Vanuatu. And Israel, established by UN decision, should be fully defended by the Federation. Gaza can be part of Egypt, West Bank part of Jordan, Syria [which needs a revamp of its own] can take on some northern bits. Lebanon too. Hey presto, Middle East peace, light, harmony, happiness, health, prosperity, longevity, fun and love. Cyprus might become a regional NUN [New UN] regional HQ and might be sold to the UN [maybe for 10 Quid [new global currency]] as the first member of the new Federation [with special status like WashingtonDC is a bit different from regular states]. Or, we could stay as we are. Oh, that's right, we can't. Greece is finding that doesn't work. Citizenships are getting a bit on the murky side too and could do with some redesign with A380s swooping everywhere. People are no longer tribal monkeys fighting for their alpha male to gain territory from neighbouring tribes to kill the males and take the females and hunter-gatherer territory. We are not creatures of some local jungle [not all of us anyway]. Mqurice
